A new way to cruise

AT&T, one of the nation’s largest telecommunications providers, recently partnered with Carnival Cruiselines to offer a unique in-store experience. For a limited time, visitors to 133 brick-and-mortar AT&T stores can use the Samsung Gear VR to go on a virtual reality cruise.

AT&T Virtual Reality Experience

The concept and trial benefits are two-fold: enjoy an immersive virtual reality experience that connects to your smartphone, and gain a positive understanding of what a cruise is like. Users are able to experience the ins and outs of a cruise from the cabins to decks and dining areas. Other simulations like ocean breeze are available in some stores.

Tim Baxter, president of Samsung Electronics America said “Now, people can immerse themselves into a one-of-a-kind cruise line adventure, powered by virtual reality. We are excited to work with the premier brand in leisure travel to bring the complete cruise line experience to AT&T’s stores across the U.S.”

After testing the virtual reality cruise, visitors are able to enter a sweepstakes to win one of ten 7-day cruises from Carnival.

President of AT&T Retail Sales and Distribution, Brian Shay said “Our customers know they can come to an AT&T store to experience the future of a connected life. The Samsung Gear VR is awesome, especially with this great content from Carnival. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show it off.”
