Troubleshooting U-verse Voice
Having trouble getting a dial tone on your U-verse Voice line? We can help with that. If you’re unable to get a dial tone, or make a call, try these troubleshooting tips.
Check that all the cords and wires for your device are undamaged and securely connected.
If you have more than one telephone in your home, try another handset to see if you can get a dial tone. If you can get a dial tone with another telephone, it may be the handset that is the problem. You can also try restarting your Wi-Fi Gateway. Be aware that U-verse Voice and all of your other U-verse services will be interrupted during a restart of the Wi-Fi Gateway.
To restart your Wi-Fi Gateway, remove the power cord for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Be sure to push the plug securely into the socket. If you still don’t get a dial tone, plug your phone directly into the back of the Wi-Fi Gateway. This may allow you to make and receive calls until the problem is fixed.
